En la sede del ayuntamiento de esta ciudad tuvo lugar durante los días 18, 19 y 20, la 6ª Convención Bianual de la Red Canadiense de solidaridad con Cuba (CNC por sus siglas en inglés). Durante tres intensas y fructíferas jornadas se hizo un balance de las acciones e iniciativas de solidaridad y apoyo a la Revolución cubana y a la batalla por la liberación de nuestros Cinco Héroes. Igualmente, en su segmento inaugural se rindió homenaje al Comandante Hugo Chávez Frías.
El evento contó con la presencia de Kenia Serrano, presidenta del Instituto Cubano de Amistad con los Pueblos (ICAP), el Embajador cubano en Canadá, Julio Garmendia, el Cónsul General de Cuba en Toronto, Javier Dómokos y otros funcionarios cubanos. Además de los representantes de cada ciudad de la geografía canadiense que integran la Red Canadiense, participó una representación de la Asociación de Cubanos Residentes en Toronto “Juan Gualberto Gómez” quienes a partir de esta cita se integraron como miembros plenos del ejecutivo de la Red

6TH CONVENTION OF THE CANADIAN NETWORK OF SOLIDARITY WITH CUBA HELD IN TORONTO
Toronto May 21st, 2013. In the Toronto City Hall took place on May 18, 19 and 20, the 6th Biennial Convention of the Canadian Network on Cuba (CNC). For three intense and fruitful days the conference reviewed the actions and initiatives of solidarity and support for the Cuban Revolution and the battle for the liberation of our Five Heroes. As part of the opening ceremony, the event paid tribute to Commander Hugo Chavez Frias.
The event was attended by Ms. Kenia Serrano, President of the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP), the Cuban Ambassador to Canada, His Excellency Julio Garmendia, the Consul General of Cuba in Toronto, Mr. Javier Dómokos and other Cuban officials. In addition to the representatives of each city of the Canadian geography that form the Canadian network, a representation of the Association of Cuban Residents in Toronto "Juan Gualberto Gómez" was also present, who from this convention were included as full members of the Executive of the Canadian Network on Cuba.
