En un gesto de profunda identificación con la causa de los Cinco Héroes cubanos arbitrariamente detenidos, injustamente condenados y sometidos a penas y tratos crueles, inhumanos y degradantes en cárceles norteamericanas, la poetisa danesa Hellen Gade hizo llegar a la Embajadora cubana en Copenhague un poema dedicado a nuestros cinco compatriotas.
Escrito en idiomas inglés y danés, y titulado “The dirty laundry”, el poema es un canto a la verdad, que nunca podrá ser escondida ni silenciada.
Llegue este sencillo homenaje a nuestros Cinco Héroes, en el contexto de la pujante campaña internacional que clama por su liberación. (Embacuba Dinamarca)
The dirty laundry
Five men are staying
behind thick walls
in a foreign country
where their language
is unknown
The country is:
a neighbor country
a country of God
Where the dirty laundry
is hanging out
and therefore cannot hide
the stink that grows
stronger as years go by
It can be smelled across
the sea
to Siberia
to Copenhagen
to Gaza
to Washington
to Paris
It is no use to hold one´s
nose as long as it is
hanging there
Some people pretend it is
not there
We must go on learning
the true language
perhaps sign language written language or songs …
There are still many songs to be sung.
